Reflecting on my journey, there are six pivotal insights I wish I had grasped before diving into the world of graphic design. 1. Networking is Everything

When I started, I underestimated the power of networking. The truth is, the graphic design community is both vast and interconnected. Building relationships with other designers, clients, and industry professionals can open doors to opportunities that would otherwise remain inaccessible. Networking isn't just about landing jobs; it's about learning, sharing ideas, and growing together. Whether through social media platforms, industry conferences, or local meetups, every interaction is a chance to expand your horizons.


2. Creative Block is Very Real

Every creative professional will face the dreaded creative block at some point. Initially, I thought it was a myth or simply a lack of effort. However, I quickly learned that creative block is a genuine challenge that requires strategic overcoming. The key is to recognize it early and develop personal strategies to navigate through it. Determining how much to charge for your services is one of the most daunting tasks as a new designer. There's a delicate balance between being competitive and valuing your work appropriately. Initially, I fell into the trap of undercharging in the hope of attracting more clients. This not only led to burnout but also undervalued my skills. Your time, talent, and expertise are valuable. Don't be afraid to charge what you're worth, and remember that clients who recognize the value of good design are the ones you want to work with.
